How to Train Your AI Assistant

Once you have a Steppit Pro subscription you’ll unlock access to your AI Assistant. One of the first things you’ll want to do is train him up. By teaching him your tone of voice, audience, skills and values, he can start working his magic! Use him to plan courses, sessions and generate written content super speedily. 

It’s a really fun process. To get started, navigate to the assistant tab located on the left hand side panel. Here, you’ll be able to begin or continue training your assistant, see your weekly digests and check out all the AI tools and insights available to you.

At the very top, you’ll meet your AI Assistant (we’ve nicknamed him Stephe, but you can call him whatever you want). You’ll see that there are five bubbles:

1. Skillset — Train your assistant in what you know and don’t know, and it’ll offer up content ideas suited to your skillset.
2. Voice — Training this element ensures your assistant always writes in your style whether that is friendly, professional, expressive or authoritative. 
3. Audience — By helping your AI know your audience, it will be able understand your target customer so that it knows exactly who you’re talking to.
4. Values — Everybody has an end goal with their online course and knowing what the main goal is for your audience to achieve will affect how you tone of voice is communicated to them. 
5. Context — Train your assistant to understand where Steppit fits within your world for tailored help and advice. This will help to influence and style your weekly digests. 

Click on each of the bubbles and you’ll be taken through a series of questions, yes or no situations and example texts. Each of these will help to build your AI Assistant. If you feel that the assistant has missed the mark with one of the features, don’t worry, you can retrain them again until they get it right. 

And that’s it, you’re all trained up and ready to start making your courses even better and more in-tune with your tone of voice and values!
