Industry: Food Product: Content creators Audience size: 3M followers

Starting as just four school pals back in 2010 and now content creators of the world’s leading online food community through their Youtube channel, Sorted Food is taking it one step further to expand their audience's foodie knowledge with their exclusive online courses. Focusing on simple, hands-on learning that allows any of their followers to join, no matter their location, Sorted Food wanted to offer something exclusive to their superfan base.

    1. Launched their first course “Go From 00 To Hero” in minutes, generating £10K in the first month with 15 sold-out cohorts.
    2. Chose Steppit’s unique step-by-step model for learning as the best way to teach hands-on instructions.

The Sorted Food guys — Ben, Barry, Jamie and Mike — were just a group of four guys wanting to make fun videos about food on Youtube, when they began over ten years ago. With cookbooks, an app and live shows now also on offer, their recent expansion into online courses stemmed from wanting to develop deeper relationships with their community. “Having created social media content for our global community for over 15 years, Steppit now allows us to host in-depth online courses for people who want to deep-dive into a topic. It’s amazing to offer personal support to our community members and, best of all, see them engaging and helping each other on their cooking journeys.” Jamie, co-founder of Sorted, shared.

Having over 2,000 videos and an army of knowledge under their belt, the Sorted Food team has since expanded and seen great success from their online courses.

“People absolutely love our courses! Our community shares photos of the dishes they make and they’re absolutely wow'd by how easy all the recipes are! We love opportunities to get up close and personal with our amazing community and having smaller classes means we can check in on their progress weekly and give them tips and tricks along the way. Ultimately we want them to create smaller communities within the classes and improve their cooking skills.” said Elliza, Head of E-Commerce and Ticketing at Sorted Food

“Having the flexibility of different types of cohorts has allowed us to be able to test and work out the optimum approach with our community. We prefer to work with class sizes of 25, so we can provide an equal amount of feedback to each student, plus be able to get to know them better one-to-one.”

Today, they’ve produced a sell-out with every course launched, all the while doing what they love. Through Steppit, Sorted Food has enhanced the way they build relationships, and in doing so, inspired us that within any niche there’s a community waiting to learn.

“We see an immediate return on investment with our courses, although there is an initial outlay of time from our team once the course is produced they generate passive income throughout the year- what’s not to love?” We’re truly delighted with the success of these courses and can’t wait to make more in 2024!
